What GM do you want?

What GM do you want for your Chicago Bears?

So far the Bears have interviewed five candidates:

1. Jason Licht, Pro Personnel Director for the Pats
2. Jimmy Raye, Personnel Director for the Chargers
3. Marc Ross, Director of College Scouting for Giants
4. Tim Ruskell, Player Personnel Director for Bears
5. Phil Emery, Director of College Scouting for Chiefs

Of all the candidates interviewed thus far Marc Ross has to be our number 1 choice. Look at the people he has drafted since 2008 draft (when he started with Giants): Kenny Phillips, Mario Manningham, Terrell Thomas, Hakeem Nicks, Pierre-Paul and he also picked up Victor Cruz as an undrafted free agent. That draft history alone just shows that this guy knows his stuff. Those are only a few picks that he has been a part of, but it goes to show that every single one has been a standout in the NFL. Nicks, Phillips and Pierre-Paul are all first rounders, which as we all know the Bears are notorious for screwing up.

So, after reviewing all the other candidates draft history who do you want? Who would be your choice? Let us know...

NFC/AFC Championship weekend

After a long Bears season it's hard to believe that a year ago they were still playing. But this year we have San Francisco at home against the Giants and New England at home against the Ravens.

Even though I just don't trust Alex Smith to have another game like he did against the Saints, the defense has to many play makers. I'm taking the 2 1/2 point favorites San Fran 17-14.

In the AFC game Tom Brady to Gronk scares me a little but I think Flacco finds the power of the handlebars and gets the offense back in gear with the help of the Patriots terrible defense, and Ray Rice running wild. I like the over in a shoot out Ravens 28-24

So this weekend may prove the old saying to be true: offense puts butts in seats but defense wins championships!!
